About us

My name is Lisa and I am the owner and founder of nest and nettle.
I always dreamed of having my own shop and so whilst it might sound cliche, it really is a dream come true for me to have achieved this. I now have a gorgeous bricks and mortar shop and website, and this is a big part of my brand, but nest and nettle is much more to me than just a shop. It's a space to inspire, have meaningful conversations, and create a wholesome, authentic and intentional lifestyle, that goes beyond shopping.
I want nest and nettle to be approachable yet inspirational, to create cohesive collections of gifts and homewares that encompass the joy of home, and the beauty of authentic living.
The name 'nest and nettle' encompasses the natural home; creating an environment of comfort, cosyness and acceptance (this is the nest bit), whilst combining a love and passion for all things botanical (this is the nettle bit).
So whether you shop online or in our Somerset shop, my approach is a holistic one. I hope you encounter beautiful scents and calming music in the shop, and inspiring photography and gorgeous packaging online. However you shop with us, I hope the experience will be equally wonderful.
In 2022 I also began organising Artisan and Vintage Markets, where I bring together my love for beautiful makers, artisan food and drink and Brocante style vintage curators to create a truly unique market. Each market is curated by me and showcases some of the most talented businesses in the South West. Our markets are full of inspiration and perfect for buying items for gifts or for the home and garden. I'm hugely passionate about quality and so I always curate each market to ensure every business that attends is of the style and quality that fits with my vision; something that I'm incredibly proud of. Our markets always have a wonderful, chilled atmosphere and are becoming well known as one of the best in Somerset. I host two or three markets a year, and each one has a seasonal focus.
I've also recently began working with Ottilies Flowers (a local flower grower) to offer floristry workshops; and so we have three seasonal workshops planned for this year. You can find out more about these in the workshop section of the website, and you can book online there too.
I'm passionate about authenticity and creating spaces to mediate on good, wholesome things that bring joy; so I hope, however you engage with us, you go away feeling inspired
