A little bit about my story...
Hi, my name is Lisa, the founder and owner of nest and nettle; thank you so much for stopping by.
I founded nest and nettle back in 2019, but my retail journey began a few years before, selling gifts on a few dressers in my family's cafe in Somerset. I started to develop seasonal pop up shops at Christmas time which helped me grow my vision and desire for my own business.
In 2018, the move of my families hospitality business near Ilminster, allowed me to take the step into having my own permanent shop, as there was more space on the new site. In the Christmas of that year I held my first Christmas pop up in this space, and then in 2019 I began the conversion of an old stable, transforming a dark, rustic space into a light filled, joyful shop.
My Somerset shop is still in this space today, and the business has evolved and grown over the past few years, to the wonderful interior focused business that you see today.
I love nature and the joy of the seasons, and so whether it's through homewares, plants, colours or textures, I adore following natures lead, sourcing and creating spaces which ebb and flow as the seasons do.
I love home styling, and creating cosy, joyful and uplifting rooms. I'm a true home bird, mug hoarder, someone who loves to bake and spend time in nature. I love my garden, and growing flowers brings me real joy, but I'm equally content sat by the fire on a dark evening, with a candle lit and snuggled under a blanket.
I'm always utterly inspired by my holidays in Cornwall and North Norfolk; I love nothing more than pottering around the independent shops, finding little cafe's and restaurants to visit and soaking up their beautiful beaches and coastline. These special memories have a real impact on me, and I love to bring this back to the business.
So, whether you visit my bricks and mortars shop, buy online or connect with me on social media, thank you for following my journey, and supporting my business. I hope you find the same joy, comfort and inspiration that I have found here.

Some of the things that really matter to me...
-
Quality
Nothing beats the feel of something which is well made and thoughtfully designed. I love to curate quality pieces, because I believe our homes deserve the best. I'm passionate about working with artisans and creatives to offer beautiful, meaningful pieces which showcase true style and craftsmanship.
-
Following the seasons
I love nature, and bringing the outdoors into my interiors. Whether it's through seasonal foliage and stems, pretty planters filled with Spring bulbs or cosy throws and warming tones. I adore creating spaces which are inspired by the joys of nature.
-
Attention to detail
I'm absolutely convinced that the little details matter. Whether it's in displays, products, packaging or conversations. I believe that love can be shown in the smallest things.
Why nest and nettle?
Deciding on a name for the business was tricky, but I knew I wanted something which encompassed the natural home; creating an environment of comfort, cosyness and acceptance (this is the nest bit), whilst combining a love and passion for all things nature and botanical (this is the nettle bit).
Artisan and Vintage Markets
I had always loved independent, creative markets, there's nothing quite like the joyful bustle of browsing gorgeous, local produce, amazing makes and the charm of French inspired vintage pieces. I knew one day I wanted to run my own markets, that encompass all the joy and inspiration I'd experienced.
So, in the Summer of 2022, I launched my Artisan and Vintage Markets near Ilminster in Somerset, championing the amazing talent that is in the South West. My Somerset Markets have grown organically, and it's been amazing to see how much everyone has loved attending and being a part of them.
